Good Morning Remodel is owned and operated by Sam Tidwell. With over 25 years of combined on-site construction experience among the leadership team, we aim to bring every client the home of their dreams. Founded in 2021, Good Morning Remodel started out working for investors who were flipping homes to rent. However, we quickly realized that the investors were more focused on quick fixes and were not interested in achieving the quality of work we pride ourselves on offering. Within months of starting the company, we shifted our focus away from investors and began building exterior remodel projects such as garages, sheds, porch roofs, decks, and screen rooms.

Sam Tidwell
Sam Tidwell started gaining experience in the construction field under the tutelage of his father, John Tidwell. Over the summers of his teenage years Sam would work for John as a helper. After a few years of being a helper (2008), Sam found himself in an apprentice roll where he was being taught how to use the tools of the trade and the building practices needed to be a carpenter. In 2010 Sam started his education at Gwinnett Technical College in the Residential Construction Management program where he graduated (2012) with an Associates Degree in Residential Construction Management. After obtaining his degree, Sam went to work for a large remodel company that focused solely on exterior remodeling and replacement, where he discovered a passion for the exterior side of residential construction. There, Sam worked his way up from Apprentice Carpenter through Lead Carpenter and onto Project Manager. Once Sam had achieved his necessary work experience he decided to go back to work with his father (2016). In 2015, Sam took and passed the test to become a licensed Residential Contractor, and the following year joined his father's company once again. From 2016 – 2021 Sam worked with John Tidwell and Sons to build a remodel company that specialized in all fine finishes.
In 2021, Garrett asked Sam to join him in his entrepreneurial endeavor and together they have built Good Morning Remodel.
Jay Thomas
Jay started his carpentry story as soon as he could pick up a hammer. In high school, he would make custom wood projects for friends, neighbors, and more. His family has been close with the Tidwells his whole life.
He worked for John Tidwell and Sons in the summers during high school and college. He gained the reputation of precision work, detailed planning, logical problem-solving, and accuracy with everything.
He graduated in 2019 from the University of North Georgia with a Bachelors degree in Physical Education and a minor in leadership. He commissioned into the Army National Guard as a Logistician. In his free time, he likes to rock climb and camp in the mountains.
Jesus Sotelo
Jesus Sotelo began his career in new construction framing at the age of 19, working extensively throughout the outer Atlanta area for approximately five years. In mid-2022, he transitioned into the landscaping and hardscape sector, primarily handling commercial projects for Chick-fil-A across the southeastern United States. His responsibilities included irrigation, sod installation, planting, paver installation, and constructing retaining walls.
However, his passion for framing remained strong. In mid 2023, Jesus joined Good Morning Remodel, where he has been involved in a variety of projects, ranging from deck construction to full-scale remodels. This work aligns with his interests and skills, and he truly enjoys being part of the Good Morning Remodel team.
Katie Thomas
Katie Thomas helps keep things running smoothly at Good Morning Remodel. With a sociology degree from the University of Georgia, she enjoys connecting with potential clients and making sure they feel comfortable as they start their remodeling projects. In her role, Katie is able to support clients throughout the remodeling process, ensuring they feel cared for every step of the way. She’s dedicated to keeping the office organized and helping the team deliver great service.
